Our Guest Policy

Room Rates

Every booking is subject to a 10% tax which includes the Shasta County Transient Occupancy Tax and the California Sales Tax.  Taxes are not included in the published room rates.  Room rates include the room, a full gourmet breakfast and snacks with a drink at the afternoon social hour.  Posted rates are for one to two guests per room.

Seasonal Rates

We adjust our rates seasonally to reflect the demand for rooms. Peak rates are generally mid-May to mid-October and most holiday or special event weekends. Weekend rates are often higher than weekday rates.

Check-in/Check-out Times

Standard check-in is between 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. If you arrive early and the room is ready we will gladly check you in. Late arrivals are always welcome, however please make arrangements with us in advance. Standard check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

Room Deposit

We require pre-payment in the amount of the first nights rate or 50% of your total stay (whichever is greater) to confirm reservations. Special packages may require pre-payment in full at the time the reservation is made.

Forms of Payment

We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. While cash may be paid for a room at time of check in, we require a credit card to secure the reservation and as security for damages.

Cancellation Policies

Rooms cancelled more than 14 days prior to scheduled arrival will receive a complete refund, less a $25 administrative fee per night.

Rooms cancelled less than 14 days prior to scheduled arrival will be charged the full amount of the deposit, unless we are able to re-book the room. If the room can be subsequently rented, a credit less a $25 administrative fee will be given toward a future stay.

Checkouts before the originally reserved departure date will be responsible for payment of the entire reservation.

Parking

We provide off-street parking for all guests. We have limited space available for trailers.  Please call us to make arrangements if you plan to bring a trailer.

Room Capacity

Each room is allowed two guests at the standard room rate. All children, regardless of age, are considered guests for purposes of occupancy and rates.  Because of included hide-a-bed couches, the Gray Squirrel has a maximum occupancy of four, and the Hummingbird, Woodpecker and Blacktail Deer have a maximum occupancy of three.  In these rooms with higher occupancy, a $25 per person per night additional person fee applies.

Minimum Stay Requirements

We do not require a minimum stay for weekends or holidays.

Non-smoking

For the health and safety of our family and guests, the Inn is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside The Inn or in any outside areas, including the patios, gardens, etc. Guests who wish to smoke must do so off-property.  Smoking inside The Inn will result in an additional cleaning fee of $250.

Incense/Candle Burning

For safety reasons, we do not allow the burning of incense or candles on the property.

Quiet Hours

For the enjoyment of all guests, we hold quiet hours between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. This policy does not restrict the use of televisions, radios, etc. during these hours but does require that guests keep the volume at a level such that other guests will not be disturbed.

Children

Children under the age of 12 years are generally discouraged at The Inn, given our focus on providing a quiet and relaxing atmosphere for all of our guests.  Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis for guests who call us in advance.

Pets

The Inn at Shasta Lakes welcomes your dog, cat, ferret or parrot to stay in luxury! We do not allow pets in The Inn’s living room and dining room. Pets are only allowed in certain suites.  You may dine with your dog, on a leash, on our outdoor patio.   If you plan on travelling with you furry or feathered friend, please read our pet guidelines.  There is a $250 fine for each undeclared pet.

Pet Guidelines

Please inform us that you are bringing your pet along with you before your arrival. Pets are welcome in the Acorn Cottage, Pinecone Treehouse, The Black Tail Deer Suite and the Jack Rabbit room. We allow only two pets per room. There is a $25 per day per pet non-refundable pet charge. Dogs may not be left unattended in a room at any time. While walking your pet around the grounds, you must have your pet on a leash and under your control at all times. For potty breaks you must clean up after your pet and properly dispose of the bags. We strive to provide our guests with a relaxing and peaceful stay at the Inn, therefore, we reserve the right to enforce a “no tolerance” policy on barking.
Please do not use Inn towels for your pet. We provide pet towels, sheets, and potty bags. Should your dog sleep on the bed with you, please use the extra sheet provided to cover your linens. Please keep in mind that there may be an additional cleaning fee charged after check-out should your room require extra cleaning. Guests assume financial responsibility for any damage caused by their pet during the stay.

Internet

Due to our remote mountain location, we are only able to access the Internet via satellite. This service provides decent browsing and email access, but does not work well for streaming.  Satellite internet is a metered service, similar to cell phone services that track each megabyte used.  Therefore all guests are provided free of charge with 400MB per day of their stay.  This is more than sufficient for casual web browsing and email use.  Should you need to download larger amounts of data you may purchase additional MBs.  We do not make a profit on this, but just pass along the fees from the ISP.

Telephone

Our guest rooms do not have telephones. Cell service is generally available, but signal strength varies.

Outside Visitors

Only overnight guests of the Inn are allowed on the property.

Alcohol Service Requirements

State law requires that any guest served alcohol must be 21 years of age or older. Proper ID is required.

Room Reservation Age Requirement

Anyone reserving a room must be at least 21 years of age or older.

Damage to property

Guests are responsible for all damage to property that is deemed outside of normal wear and use. While it is understood that occasional accidents do happen, it is the responsibility of our guests to use items in a manner that is consistent with proper use and handling of such items.

Lost Items

Sometimes while traveling things get left behind. We’re happy to ship things left behind to you by using the credit card we have on file.  We will contact you as soon as we discover an item left behind, and will not mail anything until we’ve contacted you.  All unclaimed property will be donated or disposed of after 30 days.   Guest’s personal property, including vehicles, are not insured by the property owners against loss or damage due to theft, vandalism, rain, water, criminal or negligent acts of others, or any other cause.

Unusual Requests

We constantly strive to meet our guest’s needs. If there’s something you need or want that we don’t offer, please let us know. We will always attempt to meet any reasonable request.
